Experiences & Involvement

This section reflects the experiences that have strengthened my adaptability, communication, and leadership. From clinical support to campus life and community engagement, each role has taught me to analyze challenges, connect with others, and communicate clearly with people at every level of an organization. These lessons continue to guide my growth and prepare me to apply these skills to future challenges where I can collaborate across perspectives and create meaningful impact.

On Campus Positions

I began my involvement in residential life as a Student Support Assistant, where I promoted safety and inclusivity while responding to critical situations such as lockouts, student distress, and facility issues. This role required empathy, adaptability, and strong communication skills, and it gave me the opportunity to support residents directly while building a safe, welcoming environment.

I later transitioned into the role of Community Assistant, where I now lead a community of more than 70 students, including new, returning, and transfer residents. In this position, I foster relationships, plan events that encourage engagement, manage a budget, and collaborate with other Community Assistants and my Residential Director to support student well-being and build inclusive spaces. A recent highlight was co-organizing a field day event that drew over 100 students and strengthened community connection and my own leadership and teamwork skills. I look forward to continuing to strengthen both my independent and teamwork skills as I grow as a leader for my residents and contribute to collective efforts within residential life.

Additionally, as an Area Assistant, I serve as the first line of support for students in the area office during after-hours. I handle lockouts, provide information on housing and room change processes, and manage communication by posting building flyers. I also ensure key security by maintaining accurate records through an online tracking system.

Sinai Scholars

I begin exploring Jewish heritage when I came to Binghamton, where I joined the Sinai Scholars Society. The program introduced me to classic Jewish texts and traditions while showing me how they connect to modern life. For the first time, I was able to see contemporary issues through a Jewish lens, which broadened my perspective and helped me become more open-minded. Beyond the classroom, Sinai Scholars gave me the chance to connect with other students who were raised in structured belief systems, allowing me to learn from their experiences and share my own. This combination of study, reflection, and community deepened my appreciation of Jewish heritage and continues to shape how I approach leadership, connection, and self-discovery.

Anesthesiologist Volunteer

At Elmhurst Hospital Center, I developed five long-term schedules to be implemented through 2027, organized departmental files, prepared presentations, answered calls, and managed supply inventory in the Anesthesiology department and PACU. I also assisted physicians on personal projects aimed at enhancing workplace relations and improving departmental efficiency. Through this experience, I learned how to communicate effectively with supervisors and patients, gaining the ability to retain and share information clearly. These skills were further strengthened during my three-month internship at Robert Packer Hospital, where I gained a deeper understanding of how different parts of an organization work together as a whole.

Bartender

I worked as a bartender at the Rathskeller, where I learned to adapt quickly, stay organized under pressure, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. The role strengthened my teamwork and communication skills and taught me how to create a positive experience for every patron.
